DU will be conducting an online Open Book Exam (OBE) for the final semester students in July. The exams will take place in accordance with the guidelines issued by UGC . The last date to fill the exam form is June 22, 2020.

DU has issued guidelines regarding the preparation of question papers for the open-book exam. As per the guidelines, the exam will require minimum internet availability as far as downloading and uploading activities are concerned with the use of latest phones. The dates for the open book exam have also been released. DU has also released the admit card for all the PG courses.

The SOL for final year postgraduate students will be held from 1 to 27 July. The report mentions that the question paper of DU SOL final year will be available five minutes before the commencement of each paper. 

NCEWB candidates can order question papers on email or WhatsApp. Differently-abled candidates will get a time duration of five hours to write answer the questions.

In case  a student is not able to upload the answer sheet after the completion of exams, then he/she can send the PDF to the designated email address of SOL, the report said.

As per a report by Times Now, omly those candidates who have filled the application form with correct details and have paid the application fees will be able to download the DU SOL 2020 exam admit card.

How to download DU SOL admit card 2020

Step 1: Go to the URL DU_exam by copying it and pasting it in your browser.

Step 2: Select DU campus - North/South

Step 3: Enter your SOL roll number without any space

Step 4: Key in your date of birth in DD/MM/YY format

Step 5: Enter your name as per the identity card and click on 'Show' button

Step 6: A new page will open that will display your admit card

Step 7: Download and take a printout of your DU SOL 2020 admit card.

OPEN BOOK EXAM Details 

DU has released the admit card for all the open book exam for all the PG courses except law. Students can download the admit card from the official website by following the link given below. The admit card is also available for the students of the School of Open Learning (SOL). If a student faces any issue while downloading the admit card, he/she will have to send a request to the EDP Cell of the university to resolve the issue.

DU Open Book Exam Dates 2020

The exams for the final semester B.Sc (Hons) Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Science, Computer Science and others will begin from July 1 and will end on July 11, 2020. Similarly, the final semester B.Com Hons and BA Hons exams in Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology and English will start on July 1, 2020. For the open book exam, students will need to download the question paper, refer to the study materials and then send back the answer sheets via email. The assessment will be done in digital mode and as per the departments' discretion and the question paper will be based on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The question papers will be prepared with due consideration for the disabled students. DU had earlier instructed all the stakeholders in the University to conduct revision session via online mode for three days to help students clear their doubts, resolve their queries, etc.

DU Open Book Exam Guidelines

Following are some guidelines for the Open Book Exam

• For the OBE, the online platform is not required entirely as only limited access to the internet and hardware is needed to download the question paper and for uploading the answer sheet after completing the exam.

• The final semester/term/ year exam will begin according to the datasheet notified separately by the respective departments for all postgraduate courses in regular mode as registered and also for those registered with the School of Open Learning and NCWEB.

• No separate information will be conveyed to the students by the exam branch.

• All the students need to make sure that their exam forms for the respective courses have already been filled up.

• Those who appear for the OBE and would like to improve their scores can do so according to the cycle of the semester in a year which means that the papers listed for the odd semester can be attempted in January 2021 and then again for the May/June 2021 semester in accordance with the applicable syllabus and the exam scheme.

• If there is any issue/ query or inconsistency, students should contact their respective departments, faculty and centre through the online mode without any delay. 

• The Admission tickets for all the PG courses for 2019-20 will be there on the exam portal from June 10, 2020, onwards. Students can download the admission tickets from the portal link. If there are any issues, queries can be sent to edpcellexam@gmail.com.

• Students are advised to stay in contact with their respective departments. Apart from using the official e-mail and SMS, Whatsapp may also be used by the department for conveying important information to the students according to their requirements.

DU Guidelines for Students Who Cannot Appear for the Exams

Students who are unable to appear for the OBE will get another chance to appear for the conventional mode of the exam as and when the situation stabilises. The conventional mode of exam will only be conducted after the result of OBE is out. Dates for filling the exam form for the left out students will be announced sometime in September 2020. DU will also release guidelines shortly for the NCWEB and SOL students by June 5, 2020.

DU ALSO TAKING ASSINGMENTS

There will be a two-hour exam for both UG and PG courses and students will have to answer four questions from a total of six questions. The question paper will have 75 marks for all students except for those in the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB). The deadline given to the departments to upload the question papers is June 3, 2020.
