Kolkata beat Punjab by 5 wickets in the IPL match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Punjab had challenged Kolkata for 123 runs. Kolkata completed the challenge by losing 4 wickets in 16.4 overs.

Captain Eoin Morgan top-scored for Kolkata with 47 runs. Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi, who came on the field with a challenge of 123 runs, recovered the team. Rahul Tripathi scored 41 off 32 balls.

Earlier, Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bat first. Punjab's innings got off to a slow start. Captain KL Rahul returned with just 19 runs. Punjab was 37 for one in the powerplay.

Chris Gayle, who came after Rahul's dismissal, could not even open an account. Shivam Mavi dismissed him for zero. Deepak Hooda, who came next, was also dismissed for a run.
